G2O appoints three Teesside University placement students

G2O Water Technologies, the leading developer of graphene oxide membrane coatings designed to significantly reduce the cost of water filtration, are pleased to have appointed three undergraduate placement students from a leading University near its North East R&D laboratory.

Teesside University science students are offered the opportunity to work in industry during their third year of study.  The University worked with G2O to match students with the specialist skills to meet the requirements of G2O.

Craig Clement, COO noted “We were so impressed with the quality of the students that we decided to employ three.  We have placed two in Technician roles and one in a Market Analyst role.  We are a relatively small company and highly innovative company and are able to offer the students a real world R&D experience”.

Andrew Wragg, CEO noted “The students have settled in really well and have added value to our business straight away.  It has enabled our Research Scientists to broaden their roles and has given them management experience.  We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with Teesside University.”

Helena Driffill-Agar, Michael Cardoso and Mark Parker all joined G2O this summer with a view to returning to Teesside University in September 2020.  Helena Driffill Agar, working as a Technician at G2O, said “This placement is a fantastic opportunity for me to enhance my knowledge within water treatment and gain crucial experience within a professional environment. I enjoy being able to bring the skills and knowledge I have gained so far at university to the business and I look forward to continuing this over the next year.”

Michael Cardoso, working as a Market Analyst added “This placement has shown me how valuable it is to know the market you work for, and how to quickly adapt to changes in a professional manner.  I enjoy being challenged so I can use the skills learned at university to overcome and solve problems presented to me, I am very excited for the year ahead with G2O and hope to add value to the business“.
